this is a spot I passed by many times, it's next to Foster Freeze in Old Torrance. then one day, we decided to give it a try. and it was well worth it . its a small but quaint spot with authentic Japanese noodles. the udon tastes very fresh, love the broth. I order hot udon with shrimp tempura and assorted vegetables . this dish I split it with my daughter and she really enjoys it. it's our go to spot especially cozy on a rainy day. the complimentary hot tea and cold tea is great! each visit never disappoints.

A nice little Japanese restaurant that's warm and serve good authentic Japanese food. We came here on a Saturday right after lunch hour so the restaurant wasn't that packed and we were able to find a table quite easily. We had to first place and pay for our orders and find a table to sit. Water, tea, cups and utensils are placed near the entrance. We ordered curry with chicken and pork cutlet, yuzu chashu with soba (hot), and sukiyaki udon (hot). The curry was delish! We have a curry lover in our family and he said he would love to come back for the curry again. The crunchy pork cutlets combined with the creamy and tasty curry with steamy rice were just on point. I liked the sukiyaki udon. The udon was thinner than that is usually served in other restaurants or sold in the market. It's definitely fresh and housemade. The sukiyaki is sweet but not too overpowering. It was just a perfect and filling meal for a cool and cloudy day. My husband liked the yuzu chashu with soba. You can definitely taste the refreshing taste of yuzu here. The buckwheat soba was so good! Just like the udon, this restaurant perfected the recipe and we thoroughly enjoyed both the udon and soba.

small japanese shop that you might pass by! located in old torrance and right next to foster's. this shop has very clean interior with decent amount of seating. it's have to order at the register and they will bring out your food for you. i tried their yuzu oroshi cold soba with fried tempura bowl. the yuzu oroshi soba was super unique. i'm not a big fan of soba but i enjoyed their soba! as for their fried tempura bowl, it was alright. the tempura is light but doesn't match up to the tempura-expert store across the street. overall, solid japanese spot! they specialize in soba so go for the soba!!

This really feels like a home-y hole in the wall spot for some authentic Japanese food. Came here to try their soba per recommendation from some friends and it didn't disappoint. The place is more of a fast casual spot. You order at the cashier before finding a seat and you bus your own table at the end but it didn't take away from the overall experience. The food also took a while since it's a small shop run by what i assume to be family but it's well worth the wait. I got the Zaru soba with tempura and this really changed my mind about tempura in general. All the pieces were so light and fried to perfection and paired perfectly with the dipping sauce. It's such a simple meal but one that's definitely one to remember.

Service was friendly and quick. Came first thing in the morning on a sugar Sunday. No wait. There was self serve hot tea and iced water/barley tea. The place was quaint, clean and quiet. Got the hot yuzu chasu udon and Mentaiko cream udon to go. The udon noodles are thin and don't have much Q. The broth is good for both. The Yuzu is saltier than Afuri ramen and has slightly less yuzu flavor but is a good substitute if you don't want to drive to DTLA. I didn't really like the sweetness of the chasu with the yuzu flavor. The mentaiko cream was good and not too milky in flavor. Probably needed more mentaiko for the amount of soup. It's a lot of food overall. Would come back again.
